Ralph is a lifelong Alaskan. He was born in Anchorage at the old Providence Hospital and grew up in Alaska. He has lived in King Salmon, Nome, Fairbanks, Metlakatla, as well as Anchorage.
Ralph has been employed by PenAir for 25 years. He has worked his way from loading and fueling planes to his current position as Vice-President of Public Affairs. During this time, PenAir has grown into the largest in-state airline in Alaska.
Ralph served as the chairman of the board of directors at the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce. He also served on the boards of Victims for Justice, the Anchorage Youth Court and the State Chamber. In 1998, Ralph was named one of the initial group of "Alaska's top 40, under 40" young business leaders.
In 1994, he was instrumental in the passage of tougher violent juvenile offender legislation, as well as the Victims Rights Amendment to the State Constitution. He is a tireless spokesman for victims of crime.
Ralph was elected in 2002, 2004 and 2006 to serve District 29 in the State House in the Alaska Legislature. Ralph serves as Majority Leader in the House as well as Chair of the Legislative Budget and Audit Committee and holds a seat on the Judiciary, Legislative Council and Oil and Gas committees. The LBA Committee is tasked with overseeing the Alaska Stranded Gas Development Act. Ralph previously served as Co-Chair of the Resources Committee in the 24th Legislature.
